With the latest build of iRacing there are major changes which affect our league, both now and regarding our plans for the second half of 2021. Foremost among those changes affecting us immediately is BoP and handling updates.
One major change in the release notes is a 15kg weight penalty for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4; this is the same weight penalty implemented by Xtreme. While we have certainly struggled at times and there has been a learning curve, we feel this similarity shows that the league has been moving in the right direction regarding establishing a fair and competitive environment among different manufacturers. When you enter into competition in one of our road racing series, you may rest assured that you can choose your favorite make and not be bound to take the "OP car".
Finally, because of the sweeping changes in this build all BoP will be immediately reset to zero for all series with BoP, including the 6/9 practice sessions at Road Atlanta for the Ricmotech Sportscar Series. We would like to request that all members, including discouraged BMW drivers, participate this week so we can see how all the changes are working together.
