GENERAL PAINTING GUIDELINES
The Ricmotech Sportscar Championships (XMS-RSC, or RSC) various series take pride in presenting not only excellent competition on track for drivers, sponsors, and viewers but also in an immersive and visually appealing product for those same drivers, sponsors, and viewers. As sim racing gains a wider audience, it is more important than ever that all members show appropriate consideration for the league's vision and the requirements necessary to achieve it. Please take a few minutes to read the following guidelines and watch the embedded video; this will greatly reduce any confusion in regards to presentation requirements and will make the process of submitting liveries much more successful.
Liveries must be approved prior to the start of round 3 of any season. If an approved livery is not provided, the driver is ruled ineligible for prizes including but not limited to cash payouts and racing equipment; liveries provided by the league to enhance the broadcast do not count towards a driver being in compliance with this important rule.
-
RSC does not use Trading Paints for broadcast events. We have our own custom paint software we provide free of charge to all members and broadcast partners.
-
Follow iESRN guidelines at all times (no adult entertainment/NSFW material, no tobacco products, written permission from publicly traded companies, etc).
-
All liveries must be 2048 x 2048 format. Out of date 1024 x 1024 liveries may negatively impact the quality of the broadcast presentation and may not be used.
-
No custom/personal numbers. XMS-RSC utilizes its own numbering standards for broadcast events which should not be interfered with.
-
Do not submit liveries with number plates and contingency stickers affixed to the design; this includes the default iRacing sets and the league's provided painting guide. Your livery should be your design and sponsors only.
The league will apply all required contingency decals and number plates upon approval of the livery. -
All livery files must be submitted in .TGA, .PNG, or .PSD format. Gimp, Paintshop Pro, .MIP, and .JPEG files will not be accepted.
-
If using a spec map, the league must be able to modify it as detailed in the video below and therefore the processed .MIP file cannot be accepted.
-
Do not modify the spec map for number plates and/or contingency decals, as this could interfere with the league's required modifications.
-
-
Drivers/teams are responsible for making any required corrections on submitted liveries; XMS-RSC cannot provide paint services to bring submitted liveries into compliance.
We are more than happy to provide any guidance or clarification needed; contact Bobby Childs, Media & Graphics Development, at any time to discuss.
